What will an engine remap do?
Remaps update the files in your engine’s computer. These are the files that tell your engine how to perform. By updating those files, remaps can increase the power, torque and/or fuel efficiency of your engine. Access more power cost-effectively, without having to upgrade to a bigger engine.
What does an engine control unit (ECU) do?
An ECU is a computer that tells your engine how to perform. When you buy a new tractor in Australia, or any other country, the ECU is programmed by the manufacturer with generic ‘factory’ settings. Manufacturers have to choose a setting that they think will suit most applications in Australia. This is because your engine could be going to work unjust about any farm in the country. Australian farms are all different, with varying soil conditions, climates, gradients and a host of different work types to contend with. In order to make your new tractor work anywhere in Australia, its engine is set to an average level of performance – one setting to suit every application.
How does a remap improve your farm equipment performance?
Like any piece of equipment, fine-tuning your engine to your specific set of requirements is going to make it perform better. That’s what an engine remap from Diesel Performance Solutions® does.
Wherever you are in Australia, you will be able to tell your local DPS agent precisely what you need from your engine. They are expert at finding out how you use your machinery and in what conditions you use it in. They feed their findings back to a technical team that creates, develops and tests all of our Diesel Performance Solutions® remap files in-house. They review your engine’s settings and identify adjustments that need to be made to your engine’s computer. They then create and send a file to your DPS® agent who loads it into your engine control unit (ECU).
With updated engine software, you will enjoy more power and improved torque from your equipment. Our team effectively matches the programming of your engine to the job you need to do in the conditions you work in.
